We’re very excited about the charity concert we are hosting in Chudleigh Church on 22nd April and this month, we’d like to introduce the three wonderful singers who are donating their time and talents to CLSW for the evening.
Women in opera are so often brushed off as lovesick, weak, or sidekicks. These three sopranos wanted to change that. Sorelle, or ‘sisters’, is an innovative new all-female operatic group created to revitalise the image of the women of opera—the queens, heroines and lovers—and restore them to their rightful place in the public imagination. Sorelle are proud to be bringing opera straight to the heart of communities that are not regularly treated to the art form and are particularly passionate about bringing opera to first-time concert goers, children and those unable to venture further afield.
And in Three Little Maids, we have an evening of mischief and laughter as Megan, Katie and Olivia bring us the comedy favourites from opera and musical theatre.
This will be a free concert, with a retiring collection in aid of CLSW. There will be a bar, refreshments and a raffle. But there will be no tickets and no booking. We are relying on all our supporters, and lovers of good music and good singing, to turn up and help us make it a night to remember.
