Trustee

Jan started her career as an Accountant in industry and joined the NHS in 1993.  Until her retirement in July 2026, she had held senior positions in Finance and General Management in primary and secondary care as well as within the Strategic Health Authority (NHS) in England. In addition, Jan has sat on a number of national working groups and has presented her work both nationally and internationally.

Since 2002 Jan has worked within the network environment firstly in Cardiac, becoming Director for both Cardia and Stroke in 2008.  She was appointed Director of Clinical Networks in April 2011 in a role which encompassed Cancer, Cardiac, Stroke, Neurosciences, Kidney Care, Critical Care and Neo-natal care Networks.  This was followed by an appointment as Director for Strategic Clinical Networks and Senates for Cheshire and Merseyside in 2012 and her remit extended to include, Lancashire and South Cumbria.  Jan continued in this post until April 2024 with a focus on Diabetes, Mental health, Dementia, Maternity, Stroke, End of Life, Respiratory and the reintroduction of the Cardiac networks.  Jan joined the NHS London Regional office in 2024 continuing her work with Clinical Networks as Director for Clinical Networks and Senate for London. 

Jan has an MSc from Manchester Business School and is currently undertaking her Doctorate at Middlesex University. She has also attended Harvard and Berkley in the USA on leadership courses.

Jan is a trustee for Heswall Hall in Wirral as well as for Cancer Life Line South West.
